Here is what you can do to have an effective real estate blog:

Define 2-3 areas that you are an expert in and blog on these niches.  Examples are:

  • farm areas
  • subdivisions
  • military
  • medical
  • distressed properties
  • investors
  • first time buyers
  • out of town referrals

Other ideas for your blog include:

  • FAQ
  • market reports,
  • neighborhood profiles
  • buyer-seller tips

The more specific your area of expertise the faster you will start getting leads from your blog.  40% of all real estate searches are local, so the blog gets you noticed faster in your area of expertise.

Tips to improve your blog:

  • Use a photo to break up the writing.  (Go to Flickr.comphotobucket.com for free photos).
  • Use your keywords in your title, first and last sentence.  This improves your search engine placement.
  • Start with the top producer blog (free) and write 2-3 times per week.  Good luck!
